April 17, 2019 — In her now usual fashion, without advance publicity or warning, Beyoncé has just released a live album to accompany Homecoming, the new Netflix documentary of her historic performance last year at Coachella. Like the performance itself, the album decidedly does not disappoint: It’s crystal clear, well-mixed, majestic and powerful.
While almost impossible to pick a favorite among the album’s 40 tracks, give “Freedom” an early listen — with over 100 marching band musicians supporting her, it showcases Beyoncé at her “rule the world” finest. Enjoy.
