(October 18, 2023) On “Let Me Show You” singer songwriter Ben Official pleads his case. He knows that words can only go so far with trying to woo a woman. Still, this simmering ballad shows Official as a man of action who knows how to use his words.
He uses those words effectively on “Let Me Show You.” He lets the lady know that her presence has an undefined but positive effect on him and he’d like to spend more time with her so that he can figure this thing out. His problem is getting her on board.
Ben Official uses a vocal style that leans a bit toward reggae and conversational, intimate phrasing to state his case and hopefully put her mind at ease. “Show You” has an arrangement that is slow but percussive and bouncy as it fuses elements of classic R&B with hip-hop influenced programmed drums.
