It’s been a couple of years since we’ve heard from Ashanti, but the talented singer is getting ready to release a new album in 2012 and is kicking it off with a new single, “The Woman You Love.” Ashanti says, “I’m so excited to have my own record label, Written Entertainment. With eOne as my distributor, I feel that their innovative and ambitious approach to the music industry, really gives my label a worldwide presence. They have the top radio people in the business and are hungry to win! The more I learned the business the more I knew this is what I wanted. Ownership is so important. As a business woman this was a great move for me!”
Her self- titled debut Album landed at the #1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts. It sold a whopping 504,000 in the first week granting her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. She also won a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album. She has since released three albums, achieving multi-platinum success. In addition to creating music, Ashanti has had a successful acting career, appearing in numerous movies including two #1 box office films and several television shows.
