On “No Better,” the Portland, Oregon native chronicles a perfect night out with the girl that he’s interested in. From planning the outfits to envisioning the sights and sounds of the club, Stokes’ gritty vocals help illustrate how he imagines an evening that “…gets no better than this…” It’s a groove that brings back the sound of dance parties from years past, with urban AC vibes keeping the track current.
While it’s been eight years since Stokes’ last full album, he has stayed busy with his run of singles. “No Better” looks to keep the successful run going, with no signs of him slowing down.
