(January 31, 2018) We’ve spent a lot of time in the past couple of years talking about the great group of new, soulful artists hailing from Portland, Oregon. But soul music didn’t just start in Portland in this decade. Andy Stokes was bringing his gritty, soulful voice to Rip City as far back as the 80s, when he led the funk group Cool’R, and later took on the moniker as “Oregon’s King of Soul.”
The talented singer is now back with a brand new song that is the #1 most added song of the week on Urban Adult Contemporary radio. It is a fun, upbeat number with a positive message and a groove that will be tough to resist. And the talented Mr. Stokes sounds as great as ever.
We’re excited to present “Promise” as our newest SoulTracks First Listen. We think you’re going to enjoy this song.
Andy Stokes – “Best Day Ever”
