First Listen: Alvin Frazier’s love flows like a “River”

(October 2, 2021) Alvin Frazier is a man of many gifts. He’s a multi-instrumentalist who has mastered six instruments. He’s an actor who has appeared highly regarded works for television and feature films, including the Oscar winning movie Judas and the Black Messiah. Frazier’s talents on bass, as well as his sweet and smooth as honey vocals that had us drawing comparisons to the likes of Tony Rich and Kenny Lattimore, led to him being asked to join the legendary funk outfit The Dazz Band.

However, Frazier is a solo artist in his own right, who has released three albums, including Love & Faith, Vol. 1 in 2006 and River, his latest which dropped this year, and SoulTracks is delighted to present the excellent acoustic guitar ballad and title track “River” as a First Listen. The track is an intimate expression of love’s depth, width, and unyielding nature. Frazier goes on in on telling his woman how he feels about her.

“River” tells the story of a man who did not have plans to fall this deeply in love, but plans change, and Frazier uses this tender ballad to express how and why the presence of this woman changed both his mind and the course of his life. Check out Alvin Frazier’s “River” here.
