These two talented women broke out one year apart two decades ago, with very different styles and in very different circumstances. But what they had in common is that they would each change popular music tremendously and open the door for other strong female artists. And now they have recorded together.
Of course, we’re talking about Alicia Keys and Jill Scott, two household names have just recorded a light, lovely new song in tandem. Alicia wrote “Jill Scott” for her brand new album ALICIA, and then, in a moment of brilliance, invited Miss Scott to participate in the recording.
The result is a elegant, summery love song that is reminiscent of Scott’s early recordings, but with Keys moving into falsetto to deliver most of the number. We’re smiling listening to this collaboration, and think SoulTrackers will too.
