(April 27, 2026) Ali Caldwell’s latest single finds the vocalist who turned heads and chairs on “The Voice” and “The Fire” putting her unique spin on the expression “not in this life.” “Another Lifetime” finds Caldwell telling the pursing her that his quest will end in failure – and there is nothing he can do about it. “Another Lifetime” is the lead single from her new EP, Episode One, which dropped earlier this month.
The song highlights Caldwell’s gifts as a storyteller and a vocalist. On “Another Lifetime,” Caldwell cooly and conversationally tells her suitor that although his efforts to woo her were impressive, something about him prevents her from saying yes to his entreaties. She weighed everything – pros and cons – and she just can’t get there. More than that, she will never get there in this life.
The production that features handclaps and trap style percussion gives Caldwell ample room to share with listeners a glimpse into her thoughts. Caldwell’s voice has deft and angelic quality, but she can stretch and show a depth of range when the emotional moment calls for it.
