(April 6, 2021) They’re two tremendous Detroit artists who were under our radar until recently. Now they’ve found each other and are making beautiful music together.
Al Lindsey has been doing his thing for awhile now, but in the past few years has found a new audience for his powerful vocals and his timeless jams. Then there is Laura Rain, who, with her group The Caesars, completely captivated SoulTrackers last year with the international hit “If I Can’t Have You.”
Al and Laura met last year via social media and began to talk about working together. The result of their virtual networking is the hot new single, “Claim It.” The two perform the heck out of this one, alternating powerful leads on a song that could have been an R&B hit 50 years ago or five years ago. It has that classic Detroit soul vibe. At least something good came from all that computer time we all experienced in 2020.
