(May 4, 2026) In the midst of superstars teaming up and notable up-and-coming artist collaborations, it’s refreshing to hear a joint effort between a rising act and an iconic one. Such is the case with “Through You,” the new single from Norwegian DJ duo A/K (aka Astrup & Kaspersen) featuring famed British soulstress Beverley Knight. The pairing of an atmospheric instrumental arrangement familiar to A/K’s growing fanbase with Knight’s classic, still ever-expanding, vocal acumen makes for a decidedly sharp, quickly engaging dance tune that feels of the moment while boasting a relevant throwback vibe.
Knight, who solidified her presence as an exemplary interpreter of classy soul in the mid-nineties with gems like “Made It Back,” “Greatest Day,” and “Flavour of the Old School” and furthered her stature in the 2000s with the massive “Shoulda Woulda Coulda” and masterful “Keep This Fire Burning,” proves herself the ideal blend of grace and conviction on “Through You.” Each line is rich in conveying the strength and self-preservation that comes with removing oneself from a toxic relationship. Knight’s no-nonsense delivery of the second half of verse two brings it home: “’Cause I saw the pics, she’s wearing my T-shirt/Her name on your lips, think I dodged a bullet from your gun/You said you were the one, but now I see it clearer/I’m takin’ back my love.”
Stephen Barnes’ solid production bolster’s A/K’s modern sensibilities and penchant for nostalgic tinges of disco into a track on which Knight sounds fully in the zone and armed with authentic resolve.
