(April 24, 2024) For Agyakomah, the question is not whether she can do it all; she can and she knows that she can. However, as Agyakomah tells us on “Do It All,” this American of Ghanaian descent may have the ability to hold it down all by herself – but that’s not something she wants to do.
It’s a song of praise to the man who takes the whole load when Agyakomah needs some sweet relief. “Do It All” is musical recognition that the Superwoman myth is still alive and well. However, unlike Karyn White, Agyakomah is blessed with a Superman willing to leap the tall buildings. Or as Agyakomah says:
As women, we often put immense pressure on ourselves to juggle various responsibilities, including family, career, education, relationships, friendships, and our own mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. While we excel at it all, there are times when we yearn for and deserve the comfort of someone caring for us. This doesn’t diminish our ability to handle things independently, but it’s about expressing the desire for someone to step in and say, ‘Hey, don’t worry, I’ve got this, I’ve got you, let me take care of you.'”
Essentially, “Do It All” is an anthem that fuses the R&B music that Agyahomah grew up listening to with Afro fusion sounds reminiscent of the music her parents played.” Check out “Do It All” here.
