A few years ago SoulTrackers discovered soulful crooner ABIAH and immediately fell in love with his lush, stunning album Life As A Ballad. Last November, we gave a sneak peek of his upcoming album Bottles (due out on March 16) with a beautiful ballad, “Sorry.”
We’re very excited about the upcoming album, and one of the cuts that really sent us was ABIAH’s very different take on a song that everyone knows: Tina Turner’s 1984 smash hit, “What’s Love Got To Do With It.” ABIAH gives it a downbeat, jazzy sheen that moves this classic in an entirely new direction. We like it a lot and think you will, too.
ABIAH tells us: “I’m excited to share music from my upcoming new album BOTTLES. Much like Nina Simone, I take great pleasure in the beauty of reimagining songs. ‘What’s Love’ is my take on the Tina Turner classic. I hope that through my version, you will fall in love with this song all over again and be curious enough to discover my new album.”
