(August 13, 2022) As was the case for so many artists, the pandemic took away some opportunities while opening up an unexpected set of doors. Abi Farrell, an English soul singer who released her highly regarded debut EP, The Only Way I Learn in 2019, had a chance meeting with Nick Corbin in early 2020, shortly before the world shut down.

Farrell and Corbin, a singer and songwriter who formerly fronted the band New Street Adventure, hit it off and the two developed a songwriting partnership during the pandemic. Farrell and Corbin co-wrote the Motown styled love anthem “I Will See You Through.” Their love of classic soul shines through on Farrell’s funky declaration of independence “Empowered.”

Farrell’s new song is a gem titled “Nobody Else.” The tune is a lush ballad that finds the angelic voice floating above strings, rock infused guitars and jazzy piano riffs on a song that tells the story of a woman who is ready to narrow her focus to that one special man. “Nobody Else” is a song about two people summoning the courage to drop the pretense and act on what they know is real.
