(October 30, 2021) Family groups such as Tavares, DeBarge and The Jones Girls showed clearly that there is something special about sibling harmonies. And that’s one of the attractions to the new family quartet 1104. Emerging out of Pembroke, George, Jake, Jacob, Joshua and Johnathan Magnum have that special sound together, and it shows on their debut project, Emotional Pages.
On the group’s new single, “Angel,” harmonies are in plentiful supply, behind powerful alternating lead vocals. The song has the feel of an After 7 classic (perhaps not ironically, another family group), with a strong melody and dramatic production.
