Dangle Grooves (2009)

Cook_Daniel_Dangle_Grooves_Album.jpg

The inspiration behind Dangle Grooves according to Dutch musician/producer Cook Daniel is "moving in a relaxed way to the groove without the need to dance." This interesting theme album from Daniel, AKA Kees Kiok, contains a collection of pop, lounge, blues, dance and jazz inspired pieces with a major emphasis on modern Spanish and African rhythms. In other words, there is a little something for everybody to move to.

Those who listen attentively to Dangle Grooves will find several hints of soulful flavor executed with pure excellence, especially by two of Daniel’s Dutch-based side musicians, Alma Nieto and Marcel Fisser. Nieto possesses an immense vocal depth in which she can belt out a sense of urgency or speak soft sensual passion. Fisser’s work is equally impressive, whether laying down sizzling blues or funky chord progressions.

With crisp musicianship and all those layers of relaxing grooves, Dangle Grooves absolutely fills those areas successfully.
