Hailing from Detroit, the group, then consisting of Henry Fambrough, Billy Henderson, Bobby Smith, Pervis Jackson and Philippe Wynne, put out a series of classic albums and a decade’s worth of hits that still resonate four decades later. And their concerts were legendary for their fun and sonic excellence.

Back in 1976, The Spinners recorded a one hour Soundstage concert special, including interviews, for Chicago’s PBS affiliate, WTTW. It showed a group that was at its mighty career peak, with all the big hits included.
