We began covering Georgia-based singer and songwriter Will Preston fifteen years ago, when we first heard his engaging brand of music – music that was certainly influenced by the soulful men of the 70s and 80s, but with Will’s own personal stylistic twist.
It’s been a few years since we heard new music from the talented Mr. Preston, but he has returned with a brand new album, Where Do I Begin?, another collection of storytelling love songs.
We took an immediate shine to the opening track of the collection, “Never Knew Love.” It is the story of a man caught in a complex relationship that may be love – but doesn’t quite feel right. Will wraps his tenor voice over an acoustic backdrop that has just a touch of island to it. It’s a song that should fit nicely on urban adult contemporary radio, and on the stereos of SoulTrackers.
