Singer and songwriter Tygressa is new to us, but wow are we glad she came along. The Fort Washington, Maryland performer honed her skills in the rich DC musical scene, and then took it all the way to the World Famous Apollo Theater in New York, where she was a two time Amateur Night winner.
She has performed all over the East Coast, but has finally realized her dream of recording her first EP, Tygressa – A Minute With You, which will be available everywhere on July 16.
We are excited to introduce Tygressa to SoulTracks in the form of her first single, “Hey You (A Minute With You),” a sassy tale of a woman whose eye is definitely caught by the striking man who came by. Her confident musings are right on point with what a lot of women feel but may not have the courage to say. And those lyrics are on top of a hooky, fun song that shows off Tygressa’s expressive voice fronting a top notch band.
