(October 1, 2024) Bay Area singer and guitarist Sargent Tucker has gained fans around the world as a modern pop and soul artist, but there is more than a touch of yesterday in Sargent’s timeless work.
That certainly goes for Sargent’s newest release, “No One Can Replace You” (Remix), which has the feel of a Smokey Robinson classic all brought forward to 2024. Assisted by band leader Rob Dehlinger and a full band with a horn section, Sargent tells the familiar story of a man who is coming to terms with the end of a romance. But instead of leaving the relationship with anger and resentment, he is instead paying respectful tribute to his “irreplaceable” love.
Musically, “No One Can Replace You” is the kind of song that would be right at home at any time in the last six decades, with a feel good vibe that belies the melancholy tale of a lost love.
The song is another good look for Sargent Tucker, and one we’re proud to present as our Song of the Month for October. Check it out below.
