It is a sure lock for us. Every Spring the snow melts, flowers blossom, and the whole world seems a bit brighter. And each year around that time, we receive one of our warm weather treasurers in new music from Bay Area singer, songwriter, and guitarist Sargent Tucker. He is an artist with a modern following and a sense of soul music history that channels its way through his music.
For his newest single, the SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award nominee slows it down for a ballad that expresses a sense of warning for his woman: She and he have a great thing together, “like running in the rain and never getting wet.” He wants to spend his life with her, and simply asks her not to “blow it.”
