SoulTrackers received a treat earlier this year when singer Heidi Tann joined longtime ST favorites Kinsman Dazz Band on the sun-soaked song “Island Summer.” It became a major hit, and set the stage for Heidi’s return to our pages, in the form of the cool new single, “You’re The Best Thing.”
Produced by Lavelle Powell and co-written by Powell and Tann, “You’re the Best Thing” is a breezy midtempo that has the vibe of a warm summer evening by the water. Featuring the trumpet stylings of Lin Rountree and backing vocals from Kinsman Dazz Band member Wayne Preston, the song is the kind of song that adult soul and jazz fans can never get enough of: airy, well performed, and with a heartfelt message of love. And Heidi Tann is 100% on point with her vocals throughout.
