With the birth name Malcolm John “Mac” Rebennack, Jr., Dr. John became famous in the 70s as a musical chameleon who could perform rock, pop, jazz and, of course, New Orleans jazz and blues.
He has recorded for nearly a half century and was best known for the 1973 hit “Right Place Wrong Time.”
