Solo

The talented vocal group Solo came and went so quickly, it seems that they were hardly there at all.  Consisting of Eunique Mack, Darnell Chavis and Danielle Stokes, Solo was discovered by uber-producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who went on to produce and largely write the group’s self-titled debut album.

Moving between original material and covers of classic soul songs, the album Solo was a smash, with great group harmonies and surprisingly strong lead vocals serving as a near-perfect bridge of past and present.  The lead single "Heaven" shot to the top 10 and the follow-up single, the lyrically lurid "Where Do U Want Me To Put It," was nearly as big.  Solo appeared headed for big things, but their follow up album, 4 Bruthas and a Bass, stiffed, landing only a minor charter with "Touch Me" and unfortunately serving as the swan song for the group.
