Shannon

DC native Shannon Greene broke out in 1983 working with hot producers Mark Liggett and Chris Barbosa on the scorching Mirage Records dance number "Let The Music Play."  The single shot to the top of the R&B charts and became the foundation for her debut album of the same name.  She followed it with the hit "Give Me Tonight." In 1985, Shannon released her sophomore disc, Do You Wanna Get Away, the title track of which became a club smash.  The album yielded a couple other moderate hits, but was not as successful as its predecessor.  She moved to Atlantic and away from Liggett and Barbosa for her third disc, Love Goes All The Way, but it stiffed on the charts.  Shannon then disappeared for over a decade before independently releasing The Best Is Yet to Come in 2000.
