Brooklyn, N.Y. born and Virginia Beach native, Rina Chanel, has captivated audiences through R&B, soul, jazz, swing, pop, and ensemble and opera performance experiences.

Rina fuses her smooth R&B vocals with various R&B era instrumental backings that highlight her unique sound and blends the best elements of Jazz and R&B.  Her skillful songwriting and vocal delivery provide a refreshing classic take on the return of the future of R&B music.

Through a strong foundation of music education, Rina developed classical proficiency and dexterity; learning to sing in French, German, Italian and Czeck from attending The Governor’s School for the Arts (Norfolk, VA) and attending Radford University on a voice scholarship.

Rina studied voice and performed background vocals for International Recording Indie R&B and Jazz Artist Tracy Hamlin. In 2017, she was a featured artist on Baltimore producer Raymond Barton’s EP “If Only for Love” performing the track “Don’t Give Up on Love.” In 2019, Rina sang lead and female vocals with the “Groove Factor” band in Virginia with fellow band mate and base player, Bennie Pearce.

Rina’s debut single “Worthy” was released in January 2020. The single debuted at #1 in Italy and Canada and at #22 on the UK Soul Top Chart.  It received airplay rotation in the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Japan, Brazil, and Arizona, California, Ohio and Pennsylvania in the United States.

Ms. Chanel teamed up again with producer Bennie Pearce (Phillie-BOP Productions) and songwriter Shawnee Crudup to co-write her follow up single “Made,” released on September 25, 2020.  “Made” received glowing success by hitting #1 on UK Amazon’s Top 100 new releases, #1 on the RnB Soul Effect TV Platform, charted number #1 in Italy, Canada and #1 on the Urban Influencer R&B and Soul Chart.  The single has played on radio stations and various platforms in the United Kingdom, Japan, Brazil, France and The Netherlands, and in Arizona, California, Ohio New York and Pennsylvania in the United States.

Rina’s latest single “More than Enough” is co-written by herself and CEO, musician, producer and songwriter Bennie Pearce (Phillie-BOP Productions) and was released on September 25, 2020.  The single has charted number #1 on the Urban Influencer R&B and Soul Chart in Los Angeles, CA, charted #1 in Canada and #9 on the UK Soul Chart Breakers. It currently plays on radio stations, top 20 playlists and various platforms in the United Kingdom, Japan, Brazil, France, and The Netherlands: and in Arizona, Alabama, California, Ohio and Pennsylvania in the United States.

In 2020, Ms. Chanel was nominated for the UK’s Soul Tracks Artist of the Year Award and was nominated for a 2020 People’s Choice Award from the Indie Radio Soul Café in New York. She is the recipient of the 2021 Song of the year for “More than Enough” and “Made” from the Star Soul Fame Awards by the RnB Soul Effect TV in California.

In 2021, Rina released her single “Sweetest of Melody” to great acclaim and was nominated in the R&B Category for the Annual Atlas Elite Entertainment Awards in California. In 2022, she followed up with “ESP.” Both singles, co-written by herself and CEO, musician, producer, and songwriter Bennie Pearce (Phillie-BOP Productions), have charted number #1 in Canada, #1 in Italy and at #10 on the Urban Influencer R&B and Soul Chart in Los Angeles, CA. Both songs are in regular rotation plays on radio stations at top 30 playlists in the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Japan, Brazil, France, and The Netherlands.

In 2023, Rina released her current single “Je ne sais quoi” which charted at #1 on the Urban Influencer UK Chart and #2 on R&B and Soul Chart in Los Angeles, CA,  #1on ACXIT Radio in Canada, and #1 on Black Planet Radio in Italy. The song received great reviews, an award for “Honorable Mention” from the 2023 Annual Atlas Elite Entertainment Awards in California and hit an impressive 100,000 streams on Spotify.  Currently, Ms. Chanel is working on her upcoming EP titled “Rina,” to be released in 2024.
