Nia Renee

Little Rock, Arkansas native Nia Renée has been building an impressive career as a vocalist who comfortably moves between multiple musical genres.

Renée first drew national attention in 2021 as a teenager on Season 19 of American Idol, where her energetic rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools” earned enthusiastic approval from judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan and helped carry her into the competition’s Top 40.

She later studied vocal performance and jazz at the University of Central Arkansas, where she also became Miss UCA and went on to finish among the Top 15 at the 2022 Miss Arkansas competition, earning multiple talent honors. Her musical training has also taken her well beyond contemporary R&B, including a 2023 appearance in Bolivia with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Santa Cruz de la Sierra and work with musicians connected to Jazz at Lincoln Center.

As a professional performer, Renée has shared bills with such established soul favorites as Frankie Beverly & Maze, while appearing at venues including Blues Alley in Washington, D.C. and other stages around the U.S. and abroad.

Still early in her recording career, Nia Renée has already shown the versatility to move from jazz clubs and concert stages to television and international performances. We first covered her song “End As Friends,” where she proved to us that she is an artist to watch.
