Despite never having stepped foot in an official studio, Makeda’s artistic endeavors and talents have quickly began to garner the attention of independent music community. While both of the Greensboro, North Carolina (by way of Hempstead, Long Island) songwriter/ vocalist’s critically acclaimed mixtapes were recorded using the simplest version of GarageBand through a Mac microphone, her rare talents have her poised to become the latest in an illustrious line of artists to step out of the North Carolina scene and onto what she hopes one day will become a national stage.
