Kebomusic is Atlanta-based music producer and keyboardist Derrick Pryce. Originally from Ottawa, Canada, Derrick has spent the last several years in Atlanta crafting his own personal sound and playing keyboards for different bands and artists. As a producer, he initially started shopping tracks to different artists for placement on their projects. This deemed somewhat successful, having produced 4 songs for Atlanta based R+B artist Yen’s sophomore project and collaborating with jazz saxophonist Derwin Daniels for his 2007 CD Journey. The next logical step was to release his own material under the banner of his music production company – Kebomusic. Inspired from influences such as jazz, R+B, hip hop and gospel, Kebomusic Presents: The Soul Prototype was released in the summer of 2010 as a digital EP. The album received extremely positive reviews domestically and in Europe while receiving steady airplay on online radio stations.
In 2010, Kebomusic remixed Jazzanova’s single “I Can See” featuring Ben Westbeech. The remix was subsequently featured on the German DJproducer collective’s 2012 digital remix compilation entitled Upside Down: Dig Deeper, achieving critical acclaim from DJs in the U.S. and Europe.
For the last two years, Derrick has been busy in the lab completing the full-length album Kebomusic Presents: The Experience. This album rounds out what was started on the debut EP. Featuring an array of top-notch vocalists hailing from such places as New York, Atlanta, California and Washington D.C. – couple this with tightly-produced grooves and it’s a surefire recipe that will definitely make your head nod.
