Southern singing duo the Descendants of Reality consists of Kimberly "Brownie" Vaughn and Sharese "Reecy" Jackson. The two met at Tennessee State University and began singing together as freshman.
Influenced by hip-hop, soul and spoken word, the duo released their debut, The Campaign Vol. 1, in 2004. They followed it a year later with Reality: Necessary. The latter disc won for the Descendants the Southern Entertainment Award for "Indie-R&B Artist of the Year."
Brownie and Reecy have also founded She Power Rocks, a women’s organization focused on STD awareness, self-esteem and avoiding abusive relationships.
