David Washington is an American recording artist/ bassist, singer, songwriter and producer who has worked with many famous recording artists such as the Detroit Emeralds, the Dells, David Peaston, RJ’s Latest Arrival, Joe Simon, Sam and Dave, The Fantastic Four, and others.

Washington along with Michael Powell formed the group Chapter 8. He also discovered the future superstar Anita Baker and signed her to Chapter 8 in 1978. Several years later Anita Baker embarked on a solo career and Michael Powell, Chapter 8’s guitarist, served as her producer and he enlisted David and other members of Chapter 8 to record Anita Baker tracks.

Chapter 8 recorded the first of their 3 albums in 1979. After a successful run with Chapter 8, David recorded and toured with David Peaston. The Peaston tour took him to Japan where Chapter 8 was very popular. David then formed his own band called Quazar; they continued where Chapter 8 left off, and became a favorite in Japan as well. In 1999, David left the road life, went to college, and attained a degree in information technology and worked as a network specialist. The itch to perform and record music was too much for him, so in 2010 he decided to record again and ‘Games’ is the first single from his EP Marry Me Again
