Dain Harris is a singer beyond his years. The 20-year old Atlanta native grew up listening to many of the rock and soul stars of the 70s, and as a teen worked to develop as both a singer and songwriter. At age 15 he met Atlanta-based music marketing and promotion executive Mike Dawson, who became Harris’s manager and mentor.
Harris gained some attention outside of the Atlanta area via an impromptu performance at the 2006 Soul Music Summit, and was soon working on his debut album. In late 2006 he signed with Purpose Records. His debut album is scheduled for a Fall 2007 release.
In August, 2007, Harris won a BMI songwriting award for his song "Secrets."
