August 20, 2024 — Welcome back to Another Groove, our series dedicated to new music that is neither pure soul nor R&B but which contains elements of those genres and may please your ears. This week we feature the track “Fogueira” by Mariana Froes.
Froes is a Brazilian singer/songwriter and guitarist who has an enchanting, delicately-textured voice that suggests a certain wisdom beyond her 21 years. Her music is a compelling blend of R&B, jazz, bossa nova and samba, all topped by her gentle vocals sung in her native Portuguese.
