Rakei has quietly become one of the most interesting voices in modern soul’s evolution. Born in New Zealand, raised in Australia, and now based in London, Rakei has built a reputation for blurring the lines between soul, R&B, jazz and electronic music, crafting a sound that feels both intimate and forward-looking. His collaborations and solo work alike reflect a musician deeply attuned to groove, texture, and emotional nuance.
That sensibility is on full display in “Easy to Love,” a track that doesn’t just sit in a groove, it floats in it.
