For the past few years, the musical combination of singer/songwriter Ty Juan and producer/songwriter Regi Myrix has been pure gold, with one hit after another. And they have done with a sound that is thoroughly modern but with a nod to the melodic lyricism of classic soul music.
We sneak peeked Ty’s album, The Signature, earlier this year when we featured the irresistible song “My Name Is Ty,” and SoulTrackers were definitely clamoring for more. Well now the wait for the rest of the project is over, as The Signature makes its long-awaited public release.
Bursting with 17 songs, The Signature shows an artist at his creative peak, combining cool ballads with club-ready jams and groovalicious midtempos, all fronted by Juan’s expressive tenor voice — and, with the additional help of indie soul risers Chavonna Adams, Sunshine The Singer, and SoulTracks fave Nia Simmons.
