(September 26, 2025) Last year, soul music lost a giant, as the great Frankie Beverly, leader of the iconic band MAZE, passed. But in good news announced today, through a license agreement with Beverly’s estate, MAZE will continue on, led by a number of former members of the band who re-grouped a couple of years ago at TMF (The Music Forever).
The split of the talented TMF members from MAZE was a sad moment for longtime fans of the group, but today’s announcement is equally joyous as the band, consisting of MAZE original member Roame Lowry, and longtime players Larry “Bear” Kimmel, Vance Taylor, Calvin Napier, and Daniel Weatherspoon, along with new members Joey Woolfalk and noted singer Chris Walker.
TMF has been wowing audiences around the world for the past 2 years, and even released an excellent album of new material, but now the members will go full circle, performing both their new songs as well as the nearly half century of MAZE hits under the legendary group moniker. Congratulations to all!
