Philadelphia native Jamie Knight had an auspicious beginning in the music world, winning the Junior Vocalist of the Year Award on television’s Star Search and releasing her first CD, Spotlight (a tribute to jazz legends), all before she was nine years old. She appeared on both regional and national television shows and was singing at the legendary Apollo Theater and Carnegie Hall before even hitting her teens.

As a teen, Knight focused on her education as well as her music, obtaining her college degree while also continuing to perform in the Philadelphia area. Upon completing college in 2007, Knight relaunched her recording career via The Secret’s Out on Phillie Town Records, working with executive producers Joseph Marrone and John Gervasoni with guest help from the ubiquitous Jay-Z. The album was released in Summer, 2007.

Knight went on to Lutheran Thelogical Seminary and become an ordained minister. She later released her first Gospel project, Lift Him Up.
