(June 30, 2022) Most would think that after producing and writing over 125 Top 10 hits, 42 No. 1 R&B hits and 16 No. 1 pop hits that Babyface would enjoy his ability to embrace his legendary status. After hearing his latest single with Ella Mai entitled “Keeps On Fallin” it is clear that he is ever evolving and musically challenging the norm.
“Keeps On Fallin” is a song that was birthed over a year ago during a session between the two artists. Footage was released ahead of the single release showing the two singer/songwriters creating in the studio. The result is a midtempo melodic cut that fits in Babyface’s wheelhouse but is enhanced with production from D’Mile that allows it to sound comfortable across adult and urban playlists. Both artists get a chance to share lyrics expressing feelings of love, and how even after day, weeks and months go by, that warm feeling of the actual fall into love never leaves.
Newly signed to Capitol Records, Babyface is preparing his full length album set for an October release entitled Girls Night Out. With “Keeps On Fallin” being the first single, it looks like this could be the next memorable landmark of a historic musical journey.
