We've been following R&B/jazz flutist Jef Kearns for a few years now. His fresh, funky take on an instrument that isn't always either of those things has made us a fan.

Jef has a new song co-written with the very taletned Slaka the Beatchild. "Jazz Addiction" combines elements of jazz, soul and funk into a great stew. Says Jef: "Jazz Addiction is the fourth song Slakah the Beatchild co-wrote with me and produced.   We met after I was recommended to perform on the flute parts on the first album by The Slakadeliqs. I grew up on quiet storm and hip hop broadcasting out of Detroit.  This song is the perfect marriage of those two genres for me."

We think enough of "Jazz Addiction" that we've made it our newest SoulTracks First Listen. What do you think of it?
